Athletics fans swarmed back to the Olympic stadium over a wet weekend to watch the heroes of London 2012 compete once again in the Sainsbury's Anniversary Games.

A glittering line up of the sports greatest competitors including Usain Bolt, Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis-Hill and Greg Rutherford saw about 110,000 spectators turn up over the three-day event at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. In typical fashion it was Bolt who powered to victory in the 100m sprint, while Farah received a warm welcome to the track, winning the 3,000m event. Jessica Ennis-Hill has also booked her place at next months World championships in Beijing after hitting form at the right time during the Anniversary Games.

The Games was the first event since William Hare UK completed the Olympic Roof Conversion Project. The new roof is an innovative gravity stressed design and is the largest spanning tensile roof in the world. William Hare UK designed, fabricated and erected 3,700 tonnes of steel on the project.
