William Hare have now achieved six consecutive RoSPA Gold Medal awards for health and safety practices between 2013 and 2018.

RoSPA have again recognised our commitment to implementing effective health and safety practices, through a robust leadership approach as well as a strong level of workforce engagement across the business. This award shows that we are consistently setting high standard of health and safety in the structural steel industry through our sustained efforts, building upon our already established reputation as an industry-leading business. The internationally-renowned RoSPA Health and Safety Awards are the longest-running industry awards scheme in the UK, and we are thrilled to be handed this prestigious award for the sixth time.

David Hodgkiss, William Hare CEO said, ‘Safety is paramount in the industry, and William Hare takes the well-being of its staff very seriously. With our sixth consecutive RoSPA Gold Medal, we know that our established safety culture is effective, and is being implemented properly.’

Paul Richards, William Hare QSHE Director, said ‘This is a well-deserved achievement for our colleagues who, on a daily basis live the company vision of being incident free.  Not only is it important for robust health and safety procedures to be in place, it’s ultimately down to our staff to adhere to them. This award perfectly demonstrates the safety-conscious attitude of our colleagues and the visible felt leadership of the family and the senior team.’

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards have become the key fixture in the health and safety calendar with new sponsors and new awards this year including the Leisure Safety Awards, the Safe@Work Safe@Home Award and the Inspiration Awards. Highly-respected, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, RoSPA award winners benefit from the wide-ranging rewards of improved sector reputation.”

The majority of awards are non-competitive and mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Gold medals, president’s awards, orders of distinction and the Patron’s Award are presented to organisations sustaining the high standards of the gold level over consecutive years.
