Connor Jones, Craft Apprentice at the Bury Facility has recently won a Positive Contribution Award with his training provider Alliance Learning. Jenna Marsh, Production Control Apprentice at the Scarborough Facility has won a Brilliance Award with her training provider Yorkshire Coast College.

The Positive Contribution Award is given to an individual who goes above and beyond to make a difference within their local community, whether its through a community project or a local charity. Connor volunteers at the East Lancashire Railway in Bury and attends vintage tramway groups to help restore and maintain trains and trams. Ravi Lad who nominated Connor had the following to say about him, “Connor is a kind, polite and friendly young man with an excellent demeanour. This really shows through him spending his weekends helping to preserve pieces of British history.”

The judges scored Connor and the work he undertakes in his community very highly, stating that they felt he was really using the skills he has gained from his apprenticeship at William Hare to help his community.
Jenna has achieved her Level 2 qualification in Business Administration and has progressed onto the Level 3 advanced course. Yorkshire Coast College have commended Jenna for her exceptionally high standard of work, they had the following to say, “Jenna has shown great maturity when taking on new challenges. She has undertaken many administration tasks over the last 2.5 years which have included working on reception, monitoring training of all employees within William Hare, various HR related tasks and Health and Safety. Jenna has also attended apprenticeship events representing her employer William Hare and promoting apprenticeships. She is highly regarded by the Business Administration team.

Jenna truly deserves this award as a reflection of her dedication and commitment both at work and college.”

Well done to Connor and Jenna for their fantastic achievements, they have laid the foundations for long, happy and successful careers.
